The Vatnajökull Expedition : SERICA Chronicles
180 kilometers of ice, wind, and solitude
As we recently unveiled the Ref. 5330, a new adventure is about to begin.
French adventurer Alexandre Gaye is embarking on his attempt at a solo, unassisted crossing of Vatnajökull, one of Europe’s largest glaciers.
On his wrist, the Ref. 5330: a legible, waterproof, reliable, and precise instrument he chose to accompany him on this adventure.
A human and sporting endeavor we are proud to be associated with.
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, our friend and adventurer Alexandre Gaye completed the full crossing of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier.
On his wrist, the Ref. 5330 "Date" accompanied him through every second of this polar immersion, enduring storms, nights in a tent, long hours of waiting, endless descents, and complete autonomy.
No need for unnecessary words. In such conditions, an instrument doesn't need a story: it simply delivers. Faced with temperature variations, humidity, the freezing cold, shocks, and the severe demands of a committed expedition, the watch simply fulfilled its mission.
With precision. With discretion. With the exact same rigor as the man wearing it.
Alexandre returns with memories of ice, wind, and effort. And we return with the confirmation that this new reference truly belongs wherever the conditions demand it.
Welcome back, Alexandre.
