Clément: The Singular and the Well-Crafted

Clément : Exigence et finesse
Clément : Exigence et finesse

Timeless watchmaking and sartorial elegance share the same mindset one driven by precision, knowledge, and above all, a sense of enjoyment. Clément, founder of @sartorialmattersfrance, certainly embodies this sharp eye for detail and style.

What was it about the 'Parade' that immediately appealed to you?

Besides the shape, what gives this watch its character is undoubtedly the alternating finishes on the case: a lovely interplay of brushed and polished surfaces that catch the light with elegance. As for the dial, its refined finish makes it, in my eyes, one of the most aesthetically pleasing pieces I've ever had the privilege of photographing and wearing.

Every SERICA watch aims to reflect a subtle alchemy between traditional watchmaking and true modernity in design and specifications. How do you perceive this aspiration?

What I love about SERICA is their talent for drawing on the heritage of watch design, but reinterpreting it with a contemporary vision. Every line, every detail evokes the timeless elegance of vintage pieces, while at the same time giving birth to an original creation. The 'Parade' perfectly embodies this balance: an aesthetic that celebrates the golden age of shaped watches, while introducing a never-before-seen silhouette. Managing to combine heritage and innovation without ever succumbing to déjà-vu is an extremely perilous exercise…one passed here with flying colors !

If you had to capture the essence of your 'Parade' in two words, which would you choose and why?

If I had to pick just two words: I would say jewel, and versatile. To me, the Parade embodies a rare form of elegance, that of a real jewel on the wrist, a feeling that is was actually new to me, and I believe to many other men too. And yet, far from being fragile, it stands out for its versatility: a precision automatic movement, and water-resistance designed for everyday wear. This is discreet luxury, designed to be worn in all circumstances.

Each watch, when worn, enters a dialogue with its owner's own personal style and attitude. Which silhouette best suits your 'Parade' today?

The 'Parade' amazed me with its ability to transition to virtually any style. Yet, as a enthusiast of classic menswear, I can't help but favoring it paired with a well-cut suit, an freshly pressed shirt, a tie of course, and a pair of black leather Richelieu shoes. A subtle alliance of timelessness and sophistication.
