Ceramic is one of the most demanding materials we work with.

It is complicated to manufacture, difficult to machine, and requires a long process of testing, firing, finishing and control. Once completed, it is extremely hardwearing, virtually scratch-proof, and highly resistant to daily wear.

For a watch bezel, this matters.

The bezel is one of the most exposed parts of a watch.

Ceramic keeps its surface, colour and markings clean over time. It brings lasting sharpness to a component that is handled, used and seen every day.

Its colour reacts beautifully to changes in light, shifting with its temperature and intensity throughout the day. Creating our own ceramic colours is a long process of trial and error. Each shade has to be developed, adjusted, tested and refined until it matches the exact character we are looking for.

Combining two colours on a single ceramic bezel insert is even more complex. It requires precision at every stage, from colour development to firing and finishing. It is a technical challenge that even century old watchmaking houses still highlight.

We chose ceramic for all these reasons.
Because despite the difficulty of making it right, it allows us to bring together what SERICA stands for: elegance, robustness, beauty and singularity.
