COLLECTION 5303 COSC
DIVE AND TRAVEL
The graduated, luminescent rotating bezel is obviously a major attribute of a diver’s watch. The bezel on the SERICA 5303 COSC lets you calculate your immersion time or any other activity up to 60 minutes.
It also allows to track a second time zone at 12 o’clock. The best way to keep an eye on home when diving on the other side of the globe.
Building our ideal will not happen by doing the same thing over and over again, but rather by challenging ourselves each and every time we see a way to make traditional watchmaking ever more precise and reliable.
This is precisely what we did with the new ref. 5303 COSC, now housing the thinner, chronometer certified caliber M100.
SERICA’S GRAND CHRONOMÈTRE
The new ref. 5303 COSC houses the chronometer-certified caliber M100. Hence its name.
But today, we wish to go further.
Once fully assembled, our Grand Chronometer watches will endure more tests, re-controlling their accuracy, power reserve, and shock-resistance to make sure the watch that reaches your wrist embodies everything we strive for.
FIGHTING MAGNETISM
There are two ways of preventing magnetic fields from affecting the accuracy of a mechanical watch.
The most recent evolution of the early 2000s consists of manufacturing a balance spring made out of silicon.
The old-fashioned way, made possible by transitioning to the thinner calibre M100, consists of building a soft-iron cage around the movement to redirect magnetic fields.
This cage, composed of three parts as depicted above, improves the current Swiss standard in magnetic resistance by 10 times, upgrading the usual 4,800 A/m to above 50,000 A/m.
